"We returned to The Teak House, the setting for a glorious holiday in 2018. Everything was as charming and enchanting as before. Mawella beach is just perfect, wonderful morning swimming and refreshing early morning walks.

The Kalametiya bird sanctuary is magical and a must visit although the birds in the garden have delivered much joy. Watch out for the Asian flycatcher - all white with a long tail.

Thank you for Roshan, Ruane and Kusum. We shall return."

The Darby Family, UK - 31st January-7th February 2022

"This is our first trip to Sri Lanka and we were looking for an experience of life on the Equator(??). The Teak House delivered! Fireflies over our mosquito nets, fruit bats and Lizzie the lizard drinking from the pool.  Our kids enjoyed the pool, the sea, even their revision time!

The food has been delicious, the service faultless, thank you so much for a wonderful end to our first Covid holiday abroad. The photos we've sent home have generated admiration and a desire to visit. We wish Roshan, Ruane and Kusum all the luck in the future and hope Sri Lanka sees toursists return."

The P Family, UK, 3rd - 14th January 2022

"What a way and place to break the tyranny of covid! This trip has been long anticipated and, at points, we never believed we'd make it here - but, despite all the form filling and tense waiting around for negative PCR results, it's been well worth the while. And certainly I don't think we have stayed in a more tranquil, beautiful and sublime house.

Highlights for us have been, in no particular order, the feeling of awakening in this beautiful bed to rays of sunlight, a morning breeze and birdsong; the troop of langurs watching us splash in the pool; the orchestra of bats, bugs and fireflies which make the evenings so magical; and, of course, the tremendous care, love and hospitality of Roshan, Ruane and Kusum. Out of house, we really enjoyed going to Hiriketiya, the kids surfing and the adults eating at Dots Bay, Bahia and Smoke and Bitters.

All in all, this experience has cemented Sri Lanka and the south coast as one of our favourite places to visit. We are already planning our next trip out for Xmas and New Year. Thank you for everything and well done for creating such an amazing place."

The W Family, UK, December 2021-January 2022

"The Teak House has been a perfect ending to our tour of Sri Lanka. We have been beautifully looked after and have truly relaxed."

The Z Family, UK, April 2018

"What a glorious place! Magical beaches, wonderful weather, heavenly house and pool!  Roshan and Ruane make the house so very special. Their Sri Lankan curry is the best we have ever enjoyed. The spicy chicken was exceptional. Thank you Nicola and Christopher for having the brainchild of this place."

The Darby Family, UK, February 2018

"Serendipity Sri Lanka! How true! We came here to swim and relax by the Indian Ocean after 'doing' Sri Lanka. We have all so much enjoyed our week at The Teak House. It is a wonderful spot but the trump cards have to be Roshan and Ruane. We have been thoroughly spoilt and eaten delicious food every day.  Thank you! Anne & Peter, UK, February 2018

"We have spent the most wonderfully relaxing week at the Teak House, ably looked after by Roshan and his brother Ruane. the house is divine , as is the beautiful pool. Beach is incredible, and food out of this world- the best we have eaten in our 3 week stay in Sri Lanka. Thank you to all at the Teak House for giving us such a fabulous stay." A&P, UK, Jan-Feb 2018

''What an incredible place. We had the most amazing few days!! Thank you! I'm obsessed with the tomato and prawn pasta. Can I say an extra thank you to Ruwan but everyone was amazing but Ruwan went over and beyond! So much love.' B&D, December 2017

'My partner and I have just got back to a freezing London. We cannot tell you how much we enjoyed our time - and are already planning next year’s return. You have done a wonderful job on the house, garden and pool. However, it was the care and kindness shown by Roshan, Ruane and Kusum that made the holiday so very special. I cannot believe you are not spending longer in Seenimodra - it is a piece of paradise.' C&O, UK, December 2017

'It has all been said on the previous pages but this is a fabulous place to wind down and enjoy some peace. To us, these will be some of the memories:

  • Watching fireflies in the evening
  • Butterflies and parakeets flying overhead
  • Lobster with a plethora of amazing veggie curries
  • Breakfast fruit platters
  • Our boys laughing
  • The sound of the waves crashing on the beach
  • Early morning HIT sessions in the garden
  • Having time to read
  • Visits to the weekly market in Tangalle
  • Visit to the fishing port (truly not to be missed!)
  • Lunch and swimming at Blue Bay (ask Ruwan)
  • Trips in the tuk tuk

Our boys, 5 and 7, said: "I never want to leave here, the food is too good!"

Roshan is an amazing cook! The staff are lovely.' The B Family, UK, October 2017

'What a wonderful week we have just spent at The Teak House.  We feel fully rested and refreshed.  We have been very ably looked after by Roshan, Ruane and Kusum who make a fabulous team: Roshan's cooking is second to none; Ruane has made himself and his tuk-tuk completely at our disposal and Kusum has made the place comfortable and clean at all times.  We have enjoyed the pool, beach, and various local attractions.  It has very much been a home from home and we can thoroughly recommend it to others.  Thank you.' The Winwood Family, UK, April 2017

'Wonderful spot. Particularly loved the magisterial migrating bats at dusk and the pre-ordered lunches at Muthu Restaurant outside of the delicious food and excellent care of R, R and K.' The C Family, UK, April 2017

'A dream time in a dream spot. Great relax after 10 days doing the cultural tour. Just what was needed. Exceptional food from Roshan.' D and R, UK, February 2017

'What a wonderful time we have had. Thank you for everything. Roshan and Ruwan and Kusum are delightful, fun, attentive and a joy to be around. The early morning fishing expeditions were a great way to start the day. Leaving here feeling truly rested and ready to hit life at home at full speed. Thank you for sharing your paradise.' The Boseys, UK, February 2017

'Goodbye Teak House! A tropical paradise very different from our own in Australia and, yet, like home! A brilliant location and I feel blessed that we found this little Teak House!! Lastly, thank you to the staff. The perfect beach holiday.' The McCart Family, Australia, January 2017

'Place is fabulous. Staff very friendly. Beaches great. Best hotel in Asia! T and S, UK January 2017

'We had the most fantastic time at the Teak House, it truly is a great place to relax and unwind. Rohan and Ruane were a delight and looked after us so well. The food was fantastic and we really didn't feel the need to eat out more than a few times to give the chaps a rest.

Short of sleeping, relaxing around the house, reading from the library ( I managed 7 books) and walking the beaches and eating the wonderful food we did very little, but Ruane did manage to have Turtle watch on call and bomb us across in time to see a Green Turtle laying on the beach, and we also met Nick over at Buckingham place and had dinner.......a fabulous place, but I still give Roshan the nod in the food stakes!!!

It was a lot of fun to cook for the boys, I showed them a salt baked snapper, I think they liked it!!!!

All in all such a fabulous trip and we would love to go back again when we get a chance.' P&P, UK, November 2016

"This is the only place in the world where we have returned 3 times which, I think, says it all. Pure MAGIC. And it only seems to get better! The new pool is just gorgeous but doesn't stop us from sea baths. Great place to relax. Very sad to leave The Teak House, its staff, Tissa, peacocks, toad, monkeys, 'squirrels', butterflies...........and so it goes on!  J&J, UK - March 2015

"Thank you for a perfect family holiday. Every aspect of the stay was perfect and we enjoyed it tremendously."  A & Family, Kuwait - February 2015

"A beautiful and relaxing finale for our Sri Lankan holiday. How fabulous to lie in thesun by the pool watching monkeys and all sorts of birdlife, or the fireflies after dark, all with the constant sound of the sea. Roshan and Ruane are unassuming and yet looked after us thoroughly - and Roshan's cooking is wonderful! A relaxed, homely, entirely comfortable end to the holiday - we loved it.

Thanks and we hope to be back soon."  J&V, UK - January 2015

"The Teak House was a wonderful end to two weeks in Sri Lanka. Roshan cooked amazing meals and Ruane helped us with all the local knowledge. It was amazing to see the fish caught on the beach and then served for a wonderful meal. The most important thing is to soak up the sun and relax at The Teak House. It is perfect for that, and Roshan and Ruane will help you do so."  The Gang from Sydney, Australia - January 2015

"What a wonderful house!  We spent a week in this very peaceful property up on the hill, 2 mins walk to one of the most picturesque beaches in the area. The villa has 2 double rooms with lovely 4 poster beds, interconnected by an open living/dining area. The villa is managed by the superb Roshan who is an outstanding cook, as well as his brother Ruane who has a Tuk Tuk to take you wherever you fancy. Not forgetting Tissa and Seeni who are a lovely addition to the property. Beach is fab for boogie boarding and long walks, and lots of rock pools which the kids enjoyed! The lovely new pool is also a very welcome addition, adding to the appeal of the house. You sleep at night with the roar of the ocean below and the noise of the jungle. Well located, close to the Aman and Tangalle. would 100% recommend a stay here."  WO Family, Dubai - November 2014

"An extraordinary stay we had here! The Teak House is a beautiful beach house to relax and spend our last few days in Sri Lanka. The food is delicious...We will surely miss this peaceful place. It will be a shock going back to Switzerland. Will definitely come back again. With love, peace and happiness, we don't want to leave."  B Family, Switzerland - April 2014

"We have unfortunately returned to Qatar after a magnificent holiday at Teak House in Sri Lanka. We have had a really incredible experience and cannot thank Roshan and Ruane enough, the food was exquisite and their hospitality cannot be faulted."  E Family, Qatar - April 2014

"Thank you so much for letting us stay at Teak House. It is an utterly magical place. I have never felt so relaxed and calm. The surroundings are just spectacular as is Roshan's food!"  AT, UK - January 2014

"My wife and I stayed two weeks at The Teak House in October 2013. We were advised that it was second monsoon season and that we might encounter a great deal of rain, but the weather was nearly perfect during our visit. Brief afternoon showers fell on some days and we did have about 24 hours of continuous rain soon after we arrived, but otherwise it was sunny and warm. I could retread the same territory already covered so well by previous reviewers – the wonderful location and comfort of The Teak House, the excellent staff, the friendly dogs (Tissa and Seeni), the picturesque beach all to one’s self. But what really fires me up to write this review is a single question. Why aren’t more Americans visiting Sri Lanka? This is an absolutely beautiful country with so much to offer the adventurous traveler. And there could be no better way to experience it than with a long stay at this home that Nicola and Chris have established, and that Roshan so masterfully manages. Any doubts you may have about a stay in Sri Lanka should be washed away by the comfort of knowing that Roshan, and his brother Ruwan, will be your genial hosts, interpreters (when needed), guides and drivers, and shopping companions wherever you venture in and around Tangalle. We basked in their capable care throughout our stay. And during our excursions on foot around the area, Tissa and Seeni were our alert and steady companions. Our only suggestion to Nicola and Chris would be to list a wider range of restaurant choices on their house notes. Our best meals were those cooked by Roshan at home, and we certainly had great meals when we went to the owner suggested restaurants, but we had equally good (and better value) dinners at the locally owned establishments we visited (Cactus Lounge and Prem Restaurant, for example). So Americans, what are you waiting for? If you want to visit a South Asian island with sand, surf, and sun, a country with three thousand years of history and a fascinating culture, a land that has flora and fauna unlike anything in the United States, book your flight and make a reservation to stay at The Teak House." T&L, Nevada, USA - October 2013

"My husband, boys and I were here for a short trip and let me tell you, it was NOT ENOUGH! Wish we could stay longer. Roshan and his brother took such good care of us. Very relaxing time, excellent food! We will be back soon."  The H Family, Kuala Lumpur & Houston, Texas - January 2013

"Thank you so much for one of the best holidays of our life. This was a perfect getaway from our everyday lives. Roshan and Ruane helped us out in every possible way and gave us all the privacy we expected as well.  This place has truly been a wonderful experience and may God bless you guys for putting together something as beautiful as this. For sure we will return and so will a lot of our friends."  G&D, Dubai - January 2013

"What a great holiday! The whole family found time to relax and have fun whilst Roshan and Ruane took care of everything. The kids will miss the dogs whilst the adults will miss Roshan's cooking but we will all miss the tuk-tuk rides with 5 of us wiggled into the back seat. The beach was fabulous. Our first trip to Sri Lanka has been wonderful and we will definitely be back!"  The R Family, Abu Dhabi and Melbourne - Christmas 2012

"Amazing Vacation

My wife and I stayed in the Teak House for 5 nights in December 2012 and we had the best time ever!!!

The Teak House is even prettier than the pictures we saw online. Clean, spacious and very quiet. It is a 2 mins walk to a beautiful and quiet beach. Roshan and his brother Ruanne made the experience even better. Roshan cooked amazing dishes for us all week and even made a huge Birthday cake for me... Ruanne took us in his Tuk Tuk to some beautiful places around town, places we would have never found or heard about on our own. We will definitely come back next year and will recommend this house to our friends. Thank you Teak House Team!!!"  SH, Dubai - December 2012

"Thank you! For a truly exotic experience. We had a great time; Roshan Ruane and the Dogs made us feel so much at home! The garden and the waves were great for our children and we greatly enjoyed the Sri Lankan atmosphere."  The K Family, Kuala Lumpur and Denmark - October 2012

"What a gorgeous place! The house and garden are perfect and Roshan and Ruane have provided for our every need. The beach is amazing and the boogie boarding is such fun. We have had a wonderful trip and, from the moment we contacted you, you have been a great help and source of information - not least providing us with the lovely Sujith to drive us around. Thank you so much for a fabulous stay at The Teak House."  The R Family, London - August 2012

"Paradise found!

The Teak House exceeded my expectations in every way. Not only was the house stunning and unique (not to mention comfortable), the beaches were right out of a movie set!  The location is perfect - I thought I would have preferred to be directly on the beach but that proved not to be the case. You can hear the waves crashing all night long from the house ,and get a fabulous breeze because you are on top of a small hill. That also puts you at a safe height- should there be a tsunami evacuation during your trip (which did happen while we were there). I always felt safe and completely taken care of. The house staff were very accommodating yet at the same time unintrusive. The meals were the real highlight of this house. We ate one meal at the Aman nearby - not worth it at all. Roshan 'a meals were off the charts delicious (and healthy!) I recommend this house without hesitation!"  LD, New York City - April 2012

"We have thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay at The Teak House and our thanks to Roshan and Ruane for their care and attention. What a peaceful and relaxing situation: we have spent many hours on the beach accompanied by the faithful dogs. It was useful being able to travel to town by Ruane's tuk tuk and Roshan produced delicious meals.

"Thank you, Nicola, for all your help and advice. What a fitting climax to our Sri Lankan stay."  J&M, Hampshire - April 2012

"Thank you for a blissful stay at The Teak House. The four of us could not have asked for a more perfect week. The Teak House is a feast for the senses and a wonderful setting to unwind and recharge. I would most certainly recommend The Teak House to anyone and especially families. Thank you."  The H Family, Kent - March/April 2012

"We had a wonderful vacation! I have travelled extensively around the World, and I have to say that the three weeks we enjoyed at The Teak House qualifies as one of the top places I have ever been to. Our expectations were surpassed in almost every way possible. The house itself is a wonderfully minimalistic creation with warmth and caring built into the walls. The attention to detail blends perfectly with the rustique charm of simple craftsmanship. The bedroom is airy and comfortable, the shower was great. The garden is a perfect place to sit and enjoy the closeness to the nature, with all kinds of flora and fauna. The beach is picture perfect with pure fine-grained sand and the sea is clear and temperate, and we had it almost exclusively to ourselves - save a few fishermen and the occasional kid. Tangalle is a charming little place. We loved the markets and bought everything we didn't recognize and had poor Roshan prepare it for us. There are plentiful experiences and excursions of exceptional experiential value - close encounters with leopards, elephants, sea turtles and blue whales. Cultural experiences at Kataragama, Hanundugoda and Galle. We fell in love with the ladies at Dickwella Lace and pretty much cleared out their stock. Roshan's cooking was superb (a good thing, since the restaurants we tried were really quite awful!), and we didn't lack anything. There is an amazing range of exotic and exciting fresh produce to explore."   J&M, Stockholm - January 2012

"We had ten days to spend in Sri Lanka. Initially, we booked four days at The Teak House, then six and, in the end, we put all our eggs in the Tangaroa basket. A fantastic place in a fantastic location. The soothing sounds of the breaking waves and the anonymous birds 'squawking' without reply. The beach is superb and the intermediate boogie boarding great for the whole family.

Massive thanks to Roshan, ever perceptive, he had my coffee down to a 't' and never asked why I kept putting beer glasses in the freezer. His food, particularly when plucked straight from the sea, was beautiful and delicious. A big thank you.

In all, a great holiday and the memories will live long for all the family. A final surf as the sun drops and home tomorrow. Sri Lanka offers so, so much and Nicola, The Teak House, R&R, you have provided the perfect introduction."  Lumsden Family, Dubai - October/November 2011

"The rain came at night, cooling and clearing the air. Days are glorious and peaceful, and we have discovered the superb choice of books in the house library.

Sujith took us to Yala NP where we saw mongoose, crocodile, water buffalo and elephant and, to cap it all, three leopards! (Don't expect to see leopard - just 1 is rare.)

And the house and the dogs and the excellent cooking of Roshan and Ruane - such a good stay."  A, R, R & P, Perth, Australia & Sheffield, England - October 2011

"A perfect paradise to spend a relaxing three days as a family.

Breathtaking beaches, great times boogie boarding. The buffalo were a surprise!

Roshan and Ruane have been so kind and helpful. The food has been great. The dogs are gorgeous and we've really enjoyed their company.

Wish we could stay longer, and would love to return one day."  Rees Family, Milton Keynes - August 2011

"We had such a fantastic stay and only wish we could stay far longer! You have a magical spot on the South Coast, and the house is an absolute delight. Thank you to Nicola, Roshan and The Teak House Team."  K, E, D&R, Paris - August 2011

"After three months of travel, it was fantastic to arrive at this peaceful oasis. The welcome from Roshan and Ruane, the dogs (we've 2 at home), the sound of the sea all enabled us to sleep (day and night!)

Roshan was the perfect host - discreet yet available, a constant carer. Breakfast and dinner were a real treat and he is welcome to visit us in England anytime!! Thanks for everything."  A, K, F&M, Cumbria - March 2011

"Many thanks to Roshan and Ruane for looking after us so thoughtfully. We enjoyed the company of the dogs whose presence made this beautiful house feel like home."  S&M, Nortumberland - March 2011

"A lovely place. Love the colours! The sound of the ocean. The beautiful house. The dogs. The peace. Thank you."  N&O - February 2011

High Points

  • Being welcomed by a pair of benign hounds, with charming manners, who remained timorous and faithful over the last four days
  • Roshan: an advertisement for Buddhism in all its aspects. And his brother, Ruwan
  • Going fishing with this guy called Kumara who we encountered on the beach with his wife, toddler daughter, and motorbike, netting fish. He took us to sea for the morning and we landlined and harpooned lunch (mullet). Find him if you can
  • Spending the day - driven by Sujith - shopping and hanging out in Galle. Sujith is clever, good company and an operator and worth spending time with

Low Points

  • Bloody marvellous boogie boarding but beware getting too close to the rocks at the end of the beach

With enormous regard to The Teak House, thank you."  Philip, Catherine and Oliver - January 2011

"With many, many thanks for a truly wonderful stay."  Mazur Family, January 2011

"An absolute haven...............such a wonderful house. Seeking to recharge from the fast pace of London and the hills. We have been looked after fantastically and our time here has only added to our brilliant Sri Lanka experience. Thank you so much."  David and Alexa - December 2010

"A bouquet of gratitude to the owners for the inspiration and a ton of thanks to Roshan for spoiling us and giving us such a decent retreat! Escaping the diplomatic circus of Mumbai in particular was a true delight, recharging our batteries in a wonderful environment, enjoying the sound of nature, empty beaches and exploring the neighbourhood by bike contributed to an unforgettable holiday.................We truly enjoyed the micro cosmos experience off the beaten track, truly grateful for this enriching experience. Don't dream your life, live your dream, choose life! Shall be back soon."  Fabian and Xenia - November 2010

"Spent far my most enjoyable nights in The Teak House. Great spot, great ambience, great staff - meals were simple, homecooked but excellent. We had a great time."  Murphy Family, Barnsdale, Australia - September 2010

"In our children's words - utterly wonderful - big waves to keep them occupied and comfortable chilled out areas to read. We have been beautifully cared for by the lovely, gentle Roshan and the dogs have made it feel like home. Thank you for such a wonderful break by the Indian Ocean. Happy memories."  Davis Family, August- September 2010

"Fabulous holiday. We have just had two weeks staying at The Teak House. It was perfect for the holiday if you want to relax, unwind and listen to the waves roll in from th e beach. Monkeys swinging in the coconut trees. Warm, balmy evenings. The house chef is a brilliant cook and makes a great curry. He is seen but never heard. What a lovely man. Tangalle is 10 mins by tuk tuk which is great for supplies and a look around. The beach is superb and only a couple of minutes walk. The house is very secluded and gets you away from everything, basically heaven. We love it and will be back!"  JM & family, April 2010

"Thank you so much for this fantastic time we've had at The Teak House! Everything was just perfect: the house (very comfortable), the beach (beautiful), dogs (great company!) and Roshan - the man of the house - a wonderful host and brilliant cook! It's a shame to leave after just five nights - obviously it was not enough!"  Tom & Adele, March 2010

"Idyllic. What a fantastic ten days we spent at The Teak House. It is the most beautiful and peaceful place and waking up to the noise of the waves was just idyllic. Roshan looked after us all so well and cooked the most delicious food throughout our stay. We were more happy to relax in the hammocks in the beautiful garden watching the birds and the monitor lizards, but we did make a couple of excursions that Roshan organised for us to Yala National Park and the Buddhist temples. We had the beach to ourselves most of the time, apart from the two lovely Teak House dogs who would escort us there. On one occasion, we helped the fishermen haul in their nets and then chose some fish that we took back and Roshan cooked for us that night. We were all very sad to leave The Teak House and can't wait to return again."  EWF & family, March 2010

"Thank you very much for our fabulous stay at The Teak House. It is a wonderful, magical spot and we feel truly spoilt. Roshan's lovely hospitality and amazing cooking have been greatly appreciated by all of us. There have been many highlights of our time here but the beautiful and delicious birthday cake that Roshan organised for Louis' birthday was really special, complete with turtle on top! Our trip to Yala National Park was a great success - we saw a magnificent leopard lying in a tree, along with lots of other wonderful creatures. We would love to return. Thank you again to Roshan and the Team."  GC & KC, London, February 2010

"We have truly appreciated our four days of peace and relaxation in these enchanting surroundings. We gave Roshan a complete free reign over the food and were delighted by the different dishes he presented for our enjoyment We loved the reassuring presence of Tissa and Seeni, enjoying their appreciative little signs of affection. It feels as though The Teak House has been created with thought and love and is embued with beauty. We hope to return".  M & J, February 2010

"The best word to summarise our stay here is "serendipity" - a happy chance find. We are so lucky to have come across The Teak House and cannot rate it highly enough. We had been to Tangalle before and stayed at a top-end luxury resort - but this wins hands down. We have also stayed in private accommodation near Galle - again, no comparison; there was no Roshan, Seeni or Tissa to start with. The Teak House has everything just right - the location (so quiet you only hear the wildlife and waves breaking against the shore and, being on a hill, you get a nice breeze most of the time), the ambience (just the right amount of 'open air' to enjoy the surroundings), the people (the owners' charming nature encountered whilst booking was a prelude to the hospitality, kindness and great service we received from the lovely Roshan and not forgetting the two dogs who accompanied us to the beach every day) and, of course, the most beautiful, secluded beach that provided just the right amount of warm, gentle conditions for our 3 year old to boogie-board and the feel of the 'real Sri Lanka' (in terms of the fishermen preparing their nets, locals playing beach cricket and a herd of water buffalo passing through) for mum and dad to appreciate. This place has heart and now a very special place in our hearts."  Pri, Alix, Saffie and Kye, January 2010

"Thank you so much for all the hard work and love you have put into The Teak House. It is greatly appreciated."  Tim & Joan, March 2009

"And what a sense of freedom The Teak House provided. Thank you so much for the opportunity to appreciate two days in this idyllic location. Beautiful house, fantastic ambience and all attention to detail discreetly provided by Roshan. We shall be back."  Sue & Cham, February 2009

"Wow! Wow! Wow! Lost for words. Fantastic location with natural air conditioning! Stunning garden and lovely rooms. Roshan is a legend and a wizard in the kitchen and only around when we need him. The only thing we were unhappy with was leaving Roshan and The Teak House."  Brendon, Lida and Baby Zach, February 2009

"In questo momento non ho parole per per ringraziare ‘la banda della Casa Teak House' sempre presente e vigile. Roshan sempre sorridente e attento a tutti nostri bisogni. Poi, a voi due - une enorme benvenuto, pensando a tutto mentre noi scivolavamo profondamente verso completo' modo tropicale'! E visto che gli ospiti sono come pesce.... c'avete tollerata in modo essemplare!! Ci vedremo d'avanti il caminetto per uno spezzatino fra poco."  Peter & Celia, December 2008/January 2009

"I had been told, prior to the trip, that Sri Lanka was a paradise, but it is even better than that. Thanks to my hosts' open arms welcome, generosity and sense of humour, these holidays have opened doors to new worlds, new plants and new friends (not necessarily in that order though)! Thank you - du fond du Coeur - for these marvellous two weeks which have been a depaysement total. Please can I come back?"  Maitanne, February/March 2008

"Thank you for a wonderful stay at the end of our holiday in Sri Lanka. Beautiful island and wonderful people wherever we went. The Teak House has been so peaceful - the beach almost deserted. Roshan a wonderful cook and looked after us well. A perfect start to the New Year. Thank you for sharing your home."  The Matthews Family, December 2007

"It is always a pleasure to be back here. The children enjoy it as much as we do. Thanks to Roshan, sweet and efficient."  Ivan & Hilary, November 2007

"Thank you so much for introducing us to this little bit of paradise! We have had an amazing time and have thoroughly enjoyed the company of all the animals, Roshan and Ruane. Roshan's food has been excellent and service wonderful. The thought of now having to live without the sound of the waves and away from this beautiful house is saddening. We hope to be able to visit again very soon."  Robbie & Amy, September 2007

"How lovely to be able to return. We pray that we may be allowed to return as this is a place we will not forget, if only in the hope that we may be able to revisit! Much love to all for a wonderful time."  Tony & Petronella, August 2007

"Happy New Year! Thanks again for a lovely stay! Roshan as ever polite, charming and limitless patience with our two boys."  Ivan & Hilary, April 2007

"Never has life delighted so much or been so good as in the last ten days with marvels created daily by the people, animals and plants that make Tangaroa (Teak House) such a special place. Very many thanks."  Alasdair, February 2007

"A charming house, a beautiful garden, the sound of the sea waves, excellent and discreet service by Roshan, you can only feel good and relaxed in such a place. A very enjoyable stay."  Ivan & Hilary, October 2006

"Thank you for a blissful stay at The Teak House. The four of us could not have asked for a more perfect week. The Teak House is a feast for the senses and a wonderful setting to unwind and recharge. I would most certainly recommend The Teak House to anyone and especially families. Thank you."
